The CA Final Result that you download from online ICAI sites or receive via email/SMS is a digital copy of the Statement of Marks. Within 4-5 weeks of the result declaration, ICAI sends your CA Final Result in a hard copy at your registered address.

Your main mark sheet shows if you are passed or failed in the exams. But, do you know what are the criteria for pass/fail in CA Final exams? Read below to find out the Pass/Fail criteria in CA Final exams.

What are the Passing Marks you need for CA Final?

The minimum marks you need to be declared as PASSED in the CA Final Result are:

  • 40% marks in each of the CA Final paper
  • 50% marks aggregate

The students who have given exams for both groups should note that your aggregate marks for all the eight papers (both the groups combined) will be considered here. For example, you get 48% aggregate marks in Group 1 papers and 62% aggregate marks in Group 2, making the total aggregate 55%, then you will be considered as passed.

If you fail the CA Final exams, you will have to appear for all the papers of the group(s). However, if you get the exemptions, you will only need to give exams for the papers in which you failed. See the exemption rules given below; you may have an easy chance to clear the CA Final exams.

What are the Exemption Rules of the CA Final Exams?

  • You need 60 marks or above in a paper in a group(s).
  • You must have appeared in all the papers of the group(s) to be eligible for the exemption in the CA Final exams.
  • Your exemption will be valid only for the next three attempts.
  • If you are a CA Final old course student and change to the new course, your exemptions will no longer be valid.

Be ready to see your CA Final Results soon. Use any of the above methods. Remember, if you are not satisfied with your CA Final Results, you still have a chance to improve your marks through the verification process.
